Cookie Policy
Last updated: 3 August 2026
This policy explains what cookies and similar storage technologies Basketwize uses on basketwize.com.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. They are widely used to make websites work or to remember your preferences.
2. What we use
We keep things simple. Basketwize does not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking cookies, or any cookies that require your consent under EU law.
| Storage | Purpose | Type | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
theme | Remembers your light/dark mode preference | localStorage | Until cleared |
country | Remembers your selected country (DE / NL) | localStorage | Until cleared |
basket-* | Stores your saved shopping baskets locally (guests only) | localStorage | Until cleared |
These are stored in your browser's localStorage — not cookies — so they are never transmitted to our servers automatically. They are purely functional and do not track you across sites.
3. Analytics
We use Plausible Analytics, which is cookieless by design. It does not store any information on your device, does not track you across websites, and does not collect personal identifiers. No consent is required for Plausible under GDPR.
4. No consent banner needed
Because we use no tracking cookies and no third-party advertising scripts, we do not show a cookie consent banner. If we ever add anything that requires consent, we will update this policy and add the appropriate notice.
5. How to clear local storage
You can clear all locally stored data at any time through your browser settings:
- Chrome / Edge: Settings → Privacy and security → Clear browsing data → Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Clear Data
- Safari: Settings → Advanced → Website Data → Remove All Website Data
Clearing local storage will reset your theme preference, country selection, and any unsaved baskets.
6. Changes to this policy
If we introduce cookies that require consent, we will update this page and add a consent mechanism before deploying them.
