A price-comparison tool for South-Asian groceries in Germany and the Netherlands — built by someone who spent years overpaying for them.
Basketwize is a free price comparison tool for Indian and South-Asian groceries in Germany and the Netherlands. It tracks live prices from nine online stores: Jamoona, Dookan, Spice Village, IndianSupermarkt, Village Foods, and NammaMarkt in Germany; plus Bharat Basket, Asian Grocery, and dBanyan in the Netherlands. Prices are updated twice daily. The tool covers shoppers in major cities including Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Cologne, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Den Haag, and Utrecht.
Unlike a simple price comparison, Basketwize optimises the entire shopping basket — factoring in each store’s shipping cost and free-delivery threshold — so you see the genuinely cheapest way to buy your whole list, not just the cheapest price per item.
I moved to Germany more than a decade ago. Like most people from South Asia living here, I quickly learned there is no one place to buy the groceries we grew up with. You piece things together across a dozen online shops. Prices swing wildly for the same 5 kg bag of Basmati. Shipping thresholds are all different. You either pick one store and overpay, or you keep four browser tabs open and do the maths yourself every week.
I did that for years. Eventually I got tired of it.
You build a list. Basketwize checks live prices across the stores that actually deliver to you, includes shipping, and tells you the cheapest way to buy the whole thing — in one store when that works, split across two when that saves more.
No cart takeover. No middleman. When you tap through, you land on the store’s own page and check out with them like normal. We’re a price-check layer on top of the shops you already trust — nothing more.
Right now we cover a handful of stores in Germany and the Netherlands. The plan is to expand across the EU, add more stores per region, and eventually let you save recurring baskets so the weekly shop takes ten seconds instead of thirty minutes.
